Revenue Share Deals

A Revenue Share deal gives an affiliate an agreed share of a defined revenue base generated by referred players. It is a core commission model in iGaming affiliate marketing. Understanding that revenue definition matters just as much as comparing the headline percentage.

How do iGaming affiliates get paid with Revenue Share?

In iGaming affiliate programmes, Revenue Share often uses net gaming revenue (NGR) as its calculation base. The agreement determines which player activity is attributed to the affiliate, what revenue is included and which deductions apply. Deposits are not automatically revenue, and the commission is not simply a share of all money deposited by referred players.

NGR and deductions

Net gaming revenue is a contractual definition, not one identical figure across all programmes. Depending on the agreement, bonus costs, taxes, payment processing charges, chargebacks or other adjustments may reduce the commission base. Ask for the full calculation and reporting breakdown. Two offers with the same percentage can produce different outcomes if their deductions or attribution terms differ.

Negative carryover and reporting

A reporting period can produce a negative balance under a programme's revenue calculation. Negative carryover means that balance may be offset against later positive revenue, if the agreement provides for it. Other programmes may reset particular balances or apply separate rules to individual players. Confirm carryover, high-value-player policies and account grouping directly in the written terms; none should be assumed.

Duration and commercial tradeoffs

Revenue Share exposes commission to future player activity and changes in the contractual revenue base. Returns can vary between periods and are not guaranteed. Check whether the agreement limits commission duration, requires ongoing activity, or changes attribution after termination. Descriptions such as lifetime commission only have meaning within the actual contract's conditions.

Revenue Share matchmaking with Makers Agency

Makers Agency supports introductions between licensed casino operators and creators, alongside deal coordination and campaign reporting. Discussions should cover audience suitability, licensed markets, the revenue definition and the reporting process. The agency does not publish a standard percentage or guarantee recurring income. CPA and Hybrid arrangements are alternatives to compare against the same campaign goals.

Does Revenue Share guarantee passive income?

No. Commission depends on the agreed revenue calculation, attributed activity and continuing contractual eligibility. Past performance does not guarantee future returns.
